iPhone Status Bar Emojis

There’s something about emojis that makes everything lighter. Luckily, there’s a way to remind us not to take life too seriously by adding emojis to your iPhone’s status bar.

You can do this nifty little trick using Focus mode. Here’s how.

How to Add Emojis to Your iPhone’s Status Bar

To add an emoji to your iPhone’s status bar, you’ll need to update your iPhone to iOS 15 or later, so you can access the Focus feature.

To add an emoji to your iPhone’s status bar, go to Settings > Focus. Then press the add (+) button in the upper right corner of the screen. Then press Custom for.

Select one of the available emoji options. At the time of writing, there are 25 Focus icons that you can add to your iPhone’s status bar. Besides the normal options, like heart and smiley, you can also select options like stethoscope, light bulb, fork and knife, and paw print.

Next, name your new focus setting. Keep in mind that although the name may not appear in your iPhone’s status bar, it may appear in other places. So if you want to play it safe, try to keep it PG.

While you can choose a color during the icon selection process, you won’t be able to see it once the emoji is in your status bar. However, the emoji will appear in this color on your iPhone’s lock screen.

Next, customize the Focus setting to choose who and which apps can send you notifications while you’re using it. Alternatively, you can also just click Everyone for everything if you’re not really concerned with features and just want the emoji.

Then press Ended and enable Focus Mode by toggling the button next to your custom Focus Mode name. Once enabled, your Focus Emoji will appear on your iPhone’s status bar and lock screen.

Adding an emoji is just one of the cool things you can do with Focus on your iPhone. If you’re linked to other Apple devices, such as a Mac or iPad, your chosen emoji will also appear on their respective status bars.
