New tweak fixes your broken status bar after jailbreak [Jailbreak]

A large number of users have reported issues with a problematic status bar in iOS immediately after jailbreaking.

While not the biggest issue for a released iOS device, the fact that the carrier name, signal status, and remaining battery fade from white to black – or sometimes don’t disappear when it’s supposed to doing so – while using certain apps can be both annoying and overall detrimental to the user experience. With a simple fix, however, this problem can now be fixed in the form of a Cydia package install by following these steps:

Step 1: Launch Cydia app and wait for the packages to refresh. Go to the “Manage” tab in the bottom bar.

Step 2: Select “Sources” in the main interface.

Step 3: Select “Edit” and then “Add” in the upper left corner of the navigation bar.

Step 4: In the resulting pop-up window, add the repository URL that hosts the package to resolve the issue:

Step 5: Select “Add Source” in the Cydia/APT URL alert and wait for the packages to refresh.

Step 6: Select the “Search” tab on the bottom bar and search for “StatusBarFix2”. Install the package like any other Cydia tweak.

While it goes without saying that users would prefer not to have to go through this sort of thing, it’s inevitable that as devices get more complex – and Apple goes further and further to try to prevent jailbreaking – minor issues like this will continue to occur.

Hey, freedom is never easy to achieve.
