New list of properties deemed unsafe by City of Brookhaven

Public hearings scheduled or held on homes deemed unsafe by a city engineering report.


At the Brookhaven Town Board of Directors meeting in August, a number of town properties were deemed unsafe as defined by Chapter 73 in accordance with the Cashin, Spinelli and Ferretti, LLC engineer’s report. The questions below are a public record question found here.


During the meeting, it was announced that a public hearing will be held at the Brookhaven City Council meeting on September 13, 2022:


On the agenda for resolution, after all public comment has been completed, the properties below were also deemed unsafe at the meeting. A public hearing has been scheduled whereby the owner or others with an interest in the premises can be heard about the condition of the premises and the actions needed to secure or remove them. These homes have also been deemed unsafe under Chapter 73 in accordance with the Cashin, Spinelli and Ferretti, LLC engineer’s report.

  • 87 Avery Ave, Patchogue

  • 0 Old Yaphank Road, Coram

  • 10 Smith Lane, Middle Island


The rest of the homes below will also be heard by the public as to condition after being deemed unsafe as defined by Chapter 73 per Cashin, Spinelli and Ferretti, LLC’s engineer report.
