How to hide status bar icons on your iPhone for a sharper look in iOS and iPhone apps and wallpapers :: Gadget Hacks
You can view battery information in Today view, you already know which operator is serving you, and you can quickly determine with normal use if your display orientation is locked. What do you need in the status bar at the top of your iPhone? If you can’t find much use for it and would like to see more of your wallpaper, there is a way to get rid of it for good.
While there is no default setting in iOS that lets you hide the status bar at the top of the screen, there is a jailbreak tweak that gives the ability to do so. Obviously, you’ll need to be jailbroken to be able to use this tweak, which shouldn’t be too big of a deal with a reliable iOS 11 jailbreak available.
To customize your home screen, lock screen or any place where the status bar appears, we will use the HideStatusBarItems mod by developer Chashmeet Singh. With this setting, you will not only be able to hide the entire status bar, but you will be able to just hide individual icons in the status bar in case you still want to see things like the Wi-Fi signal and the bars. reception.
Step 1: Install HideStatusBarItems
Open the Cydia app on your iPhone, tap the magnifying glass icon at the bottom right, then type “hidestatusbaritems” into the search box. Tap on the result of the same name when you see it, then tap “Install” at the top right of the Details page to proceed with the installation of HideStatusBarItems.
On the tweak confirmation page, press “Confirm” at the top right to complete the installation. The tweak will now be downloaded to your device, so wait for the process to complete. Select “Restart SpringBoard” after you are done to restart your iPhone and complete the installation of HideStatusBarItems.
You are now free to hide specific items in your iPhone’s status bar. You can hide some or all of the icons without any status bar. To do this, open the Settings app, then scroll down and select “HideStatusBarItems”. Once inside, the first thing you’ll want to do is turn on HideStatusBarItem by setting the toggle next to “Enable Tweak” to the ON position.
From there, select from the long list of icons you want to hide, which includes anything you can imagine – you can turn off icons for VPN, alarm, battery, airplane mode, carrier text, location, Bluetooth, etc. Once you are done with your selections, press “Apply Changes” to apply the settings.
A confirmation prompt will now appear, so press “OK” to continue and then wait a moment for your device to resume. Once it does, your status bar will now be free of those pesky icons that cluttered it up. Hiding all the icons at once, for example, makes your iPhone screen look truly minimalist, although the space previously occupied by the icons still remains.
Keep in mind that if you have chosen to hide all icons, you will not be able to view your iPhone’s signal strength for Wi-Fi and cell service, as well as the battery meter, time or time. lock screen lock icon.
However, you will still be able to view the time and date from the widget on the lock screen or by swiping down from the top of your screen. Battery status can be viewed in Today view as long as you add it as a widget.
That said, it’s very easy to override the setting and make your iPhone’s status bar icons visible again. To do so, just tap the toggle next to “Enable Tweak” in the HideStatusBarItems settings page to completely disable the feature, and you’re good to go. Or, turn off some of the icons you want to see again and hit “Apply Changes”.
