Customize Status Bar on Xiaomi Phones Running MIUI with MIUI Status Bar Pro [Root]

With the exception of the Xiaomi Mi A1, all Xiaomi phones run the smartphone manufacturer’s internal MIUI Android skin. It was released in 2010, and it has become not only a differentiator feature for Xiaomi devices, but one of the most popular custom user interfaces on Android.

While it has had its fair share of issues, MIUI is a well-designed ROM with lots of custom features. It differs from AOSP when it comes to UI elements like status bar, recent apps list, etc., but the bottom line is that the added features, taken as a whole, make up for it. any gaps. Some MIUI features that you won’t find in stock on Android include the ability to show a network speed icon in the status bar, dual apps, navigation shortcuts, and more. It is also localized for countries such as India and recently gained feature parity with stock Android when it comes to handling notifications.

Some third-party apps add even more customization. One of these apps is MIUI Status Bar Pro, an app created by XDA Junior Member zapperbyte. It lets you change the style of the status bar of their phones and has ten different designs including centered clock, left status bar icon layout, centered notifications, and more. And that offers a lot of freedom – you can choose, for example, to move the notification icons to the right of the status bar while moving the clock and system icons to the left.

MIUI Status Bar Pro can also create and restore backups of MiuiSystemUI.apk. The developer notes that it also works with non-Xiaomi devices running MIUI. It requires root and can only be installed on MIUI firmware. However, it does not require the Xposed framework.
