Chiefs Pro Bowl S Tyrann Mathieu returns to practice
The Kansas City Chiefs are one win away from becoming the first team since the 2019 New England Patriots to make three consecutive Super Bowl appearances . Aside from all the preparation for their Sunday opponent — the Cincinnati Bengals — the Chiefs are keeping a close eye on the status of star safety Tyrann Mathieu, who was in concussion protocol this week.
There was a welcome sight for Kansas City fans on Thursday afternoon, as Mathieu returned to the practice field for the first time since exiting the AFC Divisional Round game against the Bills. from Buffalo.
Although he didn’t see the field on Wednesday, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said the three-time Pro Bowler is doing well and has a “chance” to play against Cincinnati. Mathieu has just experienced another exceptional season, the one where he drives everything Kansas City players three interceptions and one in career three escape recoveries.
