The title is heading to PC via Steam, Xbox, and PlayStation later this year.

Barton Lynch Surf Pro 2022 will be heading to PC via Steam and Xbox later this year, developed by Fremantle-based Bungarra Software.

The title will see a release on Windows PC via Steam and Xbox One in the spring of 2022 through early access programs, followed by a release on Xbox Series S & X and PS5 later in the year.

A total of twelve locations will be offered, including Manly, Margaret River and even Tokyo, with free roaming navigation also available. The title will also feature a host of licensed surf events like the Billabong Pipeline Classic, Quicksilver Pro and pros such as Yago Dora, Clay Marzo, Nathan Florence, Soli Bailey, Mahina Maeda, Vahine Fierro, Felicity Palmateer and Barton Lynch.

Licensed brands include – but of course are not limited to – O’Neill, Roxy, Volcom, Vans, Boost Mobile. Finally, it sports a soundtrack featuring Smoking Martha, Kilns, Oly Sherman, Wing Defence, Mesmeriser and Bad Pony, offering “distinctive music that pairs well with BL Pro Surfworldwide and control mechanics based on fluid physics,” according to Bungarra.

You can check out the title in action below; although it admittedly doesn’t feature the crazy realistic water technology that the likes of sea of thieves can afford to play sports, it always seems to be fun anyway.

“We are surfers with a passion for the core sport of surfing, and the culture and freedom of our lifestyle,” said Andrew West, CEO of Bungarra Software. “We’ve been building surf games for years and our very first demo was a simulation.”

For West, the decision to collaborate with surfing legend Lynch was a no-brainer.

“As a World Champion, WSL and Olympic commentator and member of the Sport Australia Hall of Fame, Barton Lynch is a legend in our sport and we are delighted to work with him on this title,” West continued.

“We designed BL Pro Surfing primarily for surf gamers, as well as anyone interested in our sport and lifestyle. It’s also an accessible game for surfers (non-gamers) and we hope they can see the love and passion we put into this project for them, so even though this sports game is picked up and played, it’s hard to master.”
